Walking along the roadside I spotted just inside a thicket’s edge a great deal of trash that probably blew in from the street and a fan that had to have been thrown out there. The fan obviously hadn’t been out there long because it wasn’t buried in leaves.
Don’t have preconceived ideas about what you will find outdoors. Each day should be an adventure in finding new things to paint. Go about it with sharp eyes and an open mind, ready to take in anything that comes your way. (Ted Smuskiewicz)
A recurring theme in my work and writing is discovery, adventure and exploration. What is there on the other side of the hill to see. If I turn around and look back what is the view and perspective I have not experienced. That is adventure. For me adventure is just around the corner not exotic far away places. If you savor every moment and seek to plumb the depths of the experience there lies adventure.

Good painting and commentary. Thanks. Now I’m going to look into Te Smuskiewicz.
Thanks Jason…I love to walk and see what’s going on and finding out about new painters.
