Planting in the Projects
For this thumbnail I did no drawing with the gel pen and went straight to brush and wash using a #00 red sable brush for the line work; a #6 Dick Blick masterstroke for the washes and the Niji waterbrush for water and floating the washes.
I’m seriously beginning to embrace the expressive which is probably where I’ve been all along whether I realized or not.
What I really enjoy about this series of sketches is that, despite the speed with which they were drawn, these people are obviously engrossed in their work and have a sense of purpose. Lovely work Richard.
Thanks, This entire From the Edge of Normaltown project is turning to be about people being people. I haven’t clearly defined what goals are yet but I’m getting closer.
