Out and about with my sketchbook before the rain I took out the trusty gel pen and did this quick sketch.  I just bought a new sketchbook (Canson XL mix media 98lb.) and as always I’m a bit intimidated by all these  clean, fresh white pages.  Fortunately, there is an easy solution.

While I was out walking I stopped by the sculpture yard and was rewarded by see this new piece…Happy, happy, joy, joy!!!  I’ve never met the artist, no one has been home whenever I dropped by, but I’m going to keep trying. 

My little phone camera doesn’t do the art justice so I’ll be going back with my better device soon.

These flying geese are absolute poetry and when you see them and realize they are cut from slabs of steel it can take your breath at  the beauty.

The angel on top is such fun; a pleasure to the eyes. 

I caught this weathervane as a background image and love the silhouette.
